This sword was made by Thomas, Griswold & Co., New Orleans for "Hayden & Whilden, Charleston, SC". Hayden & Whilden was a retailer in Charleston and is among a very few "agent marked" Confederate made swords. There are very few of this agent marked pattern known and this is no doubt the finest of those.
